This month, we’re putting the spotlight on dedicated members who have been with Delirium since the early (basement!) days! Read on to learn more!
Eileen started with Delirium almost two years ago. She has earned the spotlight this month due to her commitment and positivity. Along with becoming stronger and more healthy, she has been able to manage her stressful professional better life with exercise. Her experience with getting fit has been a joy for the trainers at Delirium to watch.
WHAT CHANGES HAVE YOU SEEN IN YOURSELF SINCE COMING TO DELIRIUM?
I’m stronger both physically and mentally and my mood is definitely better, especially after a work-out. Sometimes it’s hard to get myself motivated to go to the studio, but once I’m 5-10 minutes into it, I’m fine and glad I’m there. I’ve learned to make healthier choices with food and sleep as well as with alcohol. I’ve learned not to use the scale as a gauge, and rarely weigh myself anymore, it’s about how I feel, how my clothes fit and my attitude. If I do feel like I’ve fallen off the wagon, it doesn’t take me long to hop back on and not look back.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT DELIRIUM?
I love that no matter how hard the workout can be, we can find humor in something and we can cheer each other on. I never have felt “less than” when I’m there. Everyone there celebrates each other and the fact that we are there!
WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE EXERCISE?
Bastardos, burpees and planks.
MOST FAVORITE? Running on the treadmill. When I started at Delirium I could only walk on the tread, now I’m not only running, but increasing speed and endurance every month. Each month I set a goal for my 10/10 speed and stick with it. I’ve added 2 mph and 2+additional minutes of endurance at 10/10 in the last year. I like that it jump starts my heart rate and once I feel the energy from the tread I feel like I can tackle the rest of the workout.
Thank you Eileen for being Delirious about fitness with us!
